new drama @ pacificdusk!
'Sup guys. LOOK, I LIVE.

Pacificdusk.org grand opening, Shirota Yuu fans, don't eat me alive! Ai Takahashi haters, bring on the fire! I wonder, would you watch this drama if it aired? *RANDOM STUPID QUESTION HAHA*

Brand new look for my domain. A simplistic look. I wanted a really weird drama theme because... because... I don't know. ;--; Her photobook was pretty and his was really really nice -- I couldn't resist it?

New layout stuff:
- Most affiliates are now represented by a Prince of Tennis character. (yes, there ARE that many boys)
- Jukebox thing. Totally inspired by [info]baroque_storm's radio.
- No crazy text heavy navigation stuff, yay!
- NEW BUTTONS. PHOENIX WRIGHT. EGADS! ♥

And I'm using an lj-cut for this update, so..

more new updates here.. (new shrine, art site, contact pages) )

Productivity! I'd like to extend warm welcomes to my new affiliates: Maia@Rurushu.net and Michelle@Meteor-smash.org!! \o/

By the way, I *might* end up posting here again in the coming weeks because of fanlisting adoption fun. Hopefullyyyyyyy.

Belated PSA: FFVII:AC OST, etc available in North America
Square Enix NA has added the Advent Children OST to its "e-store", meaning you can now buy the physical CD directly from Square Enix for $20. Considering it's a two disc set and it's still less than a Japanese import, this is a pretty good opportunity if you haven't purchased it already. It still isn't available digitally.

The original FFVII OST, Reunion Tracks, and other albums already released on iTunes (and some new ones I don't care about) are also available. See the Square Enix Members blog for more.

Now to re-issue the Parasite Eve OST...

eeeeeep!
Do these images disappear when you mouse over them in IE? Crap. :O

New layouts 'n stuff coming soon! Finals are over... but my summer is looking super busy, though you can expect a few new things in the coming weeks!

For now, Shine and Cantabile have a new affiliate each, and some actual about pages. Finally :P.

Mac FTP Question
I give up on my search. Does anyone know of a free FTP program for Macs that doesn't use a drag-and-drop feature?

I loved Cute FTP and Yummy FTP, but their trials have expired. I've used Fetch before, but I hate having to open both Finder and Fetch to drag and drop files. I prefer the Windows way, but if drag-and-drop is my only choice...I guess it's the last Mac feature I need to get comfortable with.

New Affiliate for FFVII Shrines
I didn't think I'd finish this before 12:00. I really didn't want to change all the update dates...

Midgar-RockORG

FF-character fanlistings also have updated affiliate lists. Or they should. I'm tired.

Question to visitors
Is the main page on Cleverheart.net sporting an error message in the layout? I have no idea why it suddenly decided to quit working. Or maybe it's my computer? Please let me know. I may have to take the update coding away if I don't know how to fix it.

Random Query
If I started posting CSS codes for livejournal layouts, would y'all be interested? I think my coding skills are about as great as my photoshop skills, at this point.

State of the Peach
Peach-ArrowNET has been pretty dormant for the last few months. I figure it's time to check in and make sure we're all on the same page.

No, Peach-ArrowNET and its family of sites have not been abandoned. I'm still working on things, but real life commitments (as they say) have slowed the progress. I am in the midst of a heavy academic quarter and will continue to attend classes through next spring (hopefully not so many at a time).

Because the Current Projects page is a more generalized, idealistic projection than anything else, here's an outline of what's actually being worked on:

  1. Currently Peach-ArrowNET is getting streamlined so as to make both updating and navigating the site list easier. This will probably (hopefully) be uploaded by the end of the month
  2. Instinct is having its discography revamped. A better layout should follow eventually, but I make no promises.
  3. Gloriosa's image galleries are being transferred to Gallery2 (see Ayu-VogueNET's gallery for an example). Making the whole domain public has been put on the backburner for awhile to focus on other projects.
  4. Ayu-VogueNET's shopping guide is being re-organized and dramatically amended to make it easier to navigate and more comprehensive
  5. Strife will have Crisis Core and 10th Anniversary Ultimania updates by July.
  6. When I feel Strife is in decent shape, Melody and Forget Me Not will receive their due attention.
The quarter ends in early June. Although the annual magazine has been shipped out to the printer, proof approved, etc, I still have four papers to finish by the end of the quarter. Do not expect any major updates until mid-June.

Fanlistings and Ayu-Vogue.net's news blog will continue to be updated regularly.

Thanks for your patience!

PSA: Marluxia fanlisting up for adoption.
Okay, so [info]longdefeat e-mailed me a while ago asking to see if I wanted to take the Marluxia fanlisting back. Unfortunately, I don't do the fanlisting thing anymore, so she asked to help advertise for a new home.

I figured I'd ask my flist first, so if any of you are interested, or perhaps may know someone who is, email me at aoi(at)geostigma.net. There aren't really any specific requirements I ask, other than being willing to take special care of it. Nell and I will try and decide by next Saturday, so try and get those emails in asap. Also, this message is public, so feel free to send the entry link out. If you have any questions, you can post here or email me. Thanks.

Edit: Oops! Forgot to say, but comments are screened =)

Look Ma, Literacy!
Stealing this from [info]angelamaria. I haven't done a book post in a while, and really guys I read more than Twilight and sixties Jimmy Olsen comics. Really.

Below are the top 106 books tagged “unread” in Librarything.

The rules:
Bold what you have read, italicize books you’ve started but couldn’t finish, and strike through books you hated. Add an asterisk* to those you’ve read more than once. Underline those on your TBR list.

Mostly I'm using underline as books I own but haven't gotten to yet.
Blah blah blah I can't remember any witty quotes about books. )

Alex's To Do List
Mmmm, typing things out helps me keep track of them in my mind. So, To Do:

Finish history paper about sheep.
Iron Man: the recap. ([info]avertuneiro, see icon.)
Rewrite Chamillionaire lyrics to the tune of Edward Cullen.
New layout a VK.org?
Writing sample for summer internships? I don't know what to write!
When finished writing all these things, have computer looked at.
See every movie with Jeremy Irons in it, ever.
Christian Bale.

The marvels of the letter Y )

It was really hard not to write "your mom" for that.

GOOD JOB, INTERNETS!
Okay, so I've had a pretty crappy string of three or four days and I haven't gotten much sleep and I'm just not feeling too great in general. (Though I did get to see Iron Man twice, which was awesome.)

But anyway, like I was saying, this morning I was not doing too well, but I logged into livejournal and that made it all better. Thank you, sexy shirtless Christian Bale. Thank you drive-by Nick Fury fangirling. Thank all of you awesome people for being so awesome. ♥

More Twilight news
The Twilight teaser trailer is online. :) I think they did an awesome job with special effects, and I don't feel unsure about Pattinson playing Edward anymore -- I think he's really awesome at it. The only thing I didn't like about this trailer is Emmett's actor. "She's not one of us!" Wow, what a bad line delivery. Maybe it's just me.

Cleverheart: version 38
The nothing-special layout version 38 is up over at Cleverheart.net. I have a hard time designing (especially on my slow Macbook) and I ended up with a simple layout not much different than my previous layouts.

As for changes, all of my tributes have been moved to an archived page and will no longer be updated with new content (though I am planning new layouts for most of them). All of my fanlistings have closed. I currently have only two active projects, my personal site and my layout archive/design portfolio which both must be redone. There is a feed of this update journal on the index page, which does slow the loading time down a bit. I will consider removing that feature if it slows the page down too much, but I do think it's rather useful to visitors. The affiliates page is gone for now, affiliates are linked with buttons on my exit page. I let a few affiliates go, mostly just those who haven't updated in longer than one year or had broken links. I've also dropped broken links on my general exit page.

Consider version 38 as a transition phase of the network -- it's nothing special, but better things will come later. :)

PS: [info]cleverheartnet has a new design and finally features proper navigation by site in the right-hand column.

PPS: All of my pages are now subdomains, though the old URL works just as well. All network subpages had their exit pages tweaked and dead links removed. Some have had stylesheet tweaks as well.

The Digital Age
I think that once they configure the Kindle a lot more in the next few years, people will slowly stop using hard copies of books and newspapers. As much as I love looking at my book collection in my bedroom, downloading a book onto something like this in less than one minute is convenient and cheap. You can carry your entire book collection wherever you go. I also hope the large price tag will decrease.

Anyway, I still think it's amazing that while everything is going digital, books have managed to stay the same for hundreds of years. I was just wondering how long that would last, especially since Kindle is selling like crazy right now. It looks like the time has come for books to convert to digital.

Spreading the word, as usual
Another official Twilight picture )

A little too much Photoshop, I think they made Edward out of proportion a bit. But I think Alice looks absolutely adorable! I'm also glad they made Bella look nothing special, because I was thinking they might have glamorized her somehow. Like they did with Hermione in the latest Harry Potter movies.

Apparently there's a teaser trailer for Twilight being shown before Speed Racer, by the way.
